Responsibilities
- Installing new tires.
- Perform tire rotations, balancing, alignments, and other maintenance tasks.
- Follow all safety protocols while working in the shop.
Requirements and skills
- Proven work experience as a Tire Technician or similar role
- Some professional experience removing and installing tires preferred.
- Team player to work with other team members.
- Attention to detail to install tires properly.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
- Ability to work in a crouched or standing position for extended periods.

Harris Tire is looking to hire a highly skilled lube technician to maintain and service customers' vehicles. The lube technician’s responsibilities include preparing detailed vehicle service reports, replacing vehicle wiper blades and car batteries, and changing motor oil as well as transmission and brake fluid as needed. You should also be able to keep vehicle interiors clean while performing maintenance and servicing tasks.
To be successful as a lube technician, you should have strong mechanical skills and adhere to all safety procedures and practices. Ultimately, an outstanding lube technician should be able to communicate effectively with customers and demonstrate excellent time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Draining the oil from a vehicle and replacing it to manufacturer specifications
- Thoroughly inspecting customers’ vehicles for oil leaks.
- Topping off other fluids, including brake, power steering and windshield wiper fluid
- Inspecting the engine block and underbody for leaks and potential issues
- Checking tire pressure and filling tires with air as needed to manufacturer specifications.
- Installing new car parts, such as air filters, oil filters, windshield wipers and batteries
- Lubricating moving parts as necessary, including those in the engine and wheel bearings and ensuring the engine is kept clean throughout servicing.
- Diagnosing existing issues and consulting with lead mechanics on the team to address the vehicles’ issues.
- Creating detailed service reports for customers
- Making recommendations for additional servicing based on initial vehicle inspections.
Requirements and skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- An aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repair
- Demonstrated experience with servicing vehicles.
- Completion of a postsecondary education lube technician program.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to work legally in the US
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Detail-oriented.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- The ability to read and follow complex directions in manuals as well as relay information in reports
- The physical ability to perform all tasks related to the position of Lube Technician, such as bending and reaching, standing for long periods of time and lifting over 60 pounds
